Yes, some scam emails are getting so legit. I consider myself a smart user, yet I've been taken by this. I'm deciding never to open another questionable email again.

Some scam emails are looking so legit that even "smart" users can be taken in. Keep a good antivirus up to date and set to on demand scanning. If you give the software access to your email as well, it may help to alert you to phishing attempts as well..

E-cards are really getting a bad name. For the first couple of years they were out, it was pretty fun. Since the spammers started using them, I've pretty much ignored any of them that I get in unless it's from a person who I know would likely send one to me. Like you, there was a period of time earlier this year when it seems like I got a dozen or so a day. At first, I thought I was popular - NOT!

I can only agree with you. We run a real greeting card company and have found demand for real greeting cards jump greatly over the last 18 months. One of the biggest reasons is that people are becoming unwilling to open e cards and are having to revert back to the traditional method of sending cards. Long may it continue!

Its becoming a real problem in our industry. We supply free e-cards and the spammers are causing us real problems. I get maybe ten a day spam e-cards and the number seems to be growing. We are currently looking at ways that we can differentiate our emails from the spammers. The only problem is that as soon as we change our methods of delivery, the spammers soon follow.
