It’s April Fools’ Day
Today’s April 1st, or April Fools’ Day. The one big event which didn’t quite live up to expectations, the much anticipated Conficker Worm never acted up, prompting speculation that it’s just a one big April Fools’ joke. Have the April Fools’ Day rounds gotten to you yet?
But still, it’s the day when Google does their traditional April Fools’ Day thingy, this time being something called CADIE. Nice, but I must say they’ve done better in the past with Gmail Paper though. That one really got me then.
On a more serious note, did anyone turn off the lights on Earth Hour? I didn’t, because I wasn’t home at the time. Although it was a useful event for promoting environmental awareness, what really counts is what we do everyday.
Instead of jokes, what could more uplifting than…… watching the earth from up in the sky? Here’s something which might be interesting. And it’s no prank either. A group of students managed to get a $80 camera 20 miles above the earth with a weather balloon and take some cool pictures of earth. No need for fancy equipment. I couldn’t believe it till I saw the pics. I think that’s cool!
And here’s a nice video too. That 2013 computer would have sounded like an April Fools’ joke not too long ago.

I love that video; who knew stats could be so fun.
This is only my second time visiting your site but i think I’m in love. I’m a blogger newbie, new to most things business, blogging and technology related, but I’m hungry for info. So many article promise useful information but are a let down. I posted a link to your article about pinging and have referred to it about 10 times, even though I read for the first time two days ago. Thank you so much for the generosity with your expertises. I really appreciate it.
Haha, that gmail paper one was good. Unobtrusive ads in 36 pt bold red Helvetica on the back
I didn’t even see the google cadie thing…probably because I don’t think I ever go to Google’s homepage.
I guess last year with everybody fake selling their blogs they wanted to be more creative or just apathetic. who knows?
@ Chelle
The Gmail Paper was the best, ever
The biggest april fools joke definately had to be the one that the one stock brokerage did when they gave all their investors $10,000,000 to buy stock with , regardless of what they had in their accounts
That camera setup looks pretty cool. Way outta my league though, good luck to ‘em.
