Learning English is not simple but is well worth it. You talk about immersing yourself in the media. This brings back memories of my aunt who was a school teacher. She would get so frustrated by so called 'educated' news anchors who very often spoke incorrectly. Your suggestion of 'read good books' is probably the better way to go. I agree.
