Viewing Google results for different countries and regions

As all Google users know, Google displays our search results according to our location. If we want to view the search results from other countries or regions, we can only do several things.

For example, if you are in the US and want to view Google search results in the UK, you could go to Google.co.uk and do a search from there.

This doesn’t quite work for people outside of the US, who go to Google.com, because the results will be clearly different then the results from going through a US based proxy. You can definitely use proxies, but they are not really quick (or secure). Read the rest of this entry »

Google Major Update

The latest major algo update from Google has even hit the headlines this time; unless you don’t surf around a lot, you may have noticed Google has been shaking up its search results again – in a rather big way. This time, the emphasis seems to be on what Google calls “content farms,” hence the nickname “Farmer Update” given by some for this algo change.

But what would be termed content farms? Seems to me, the content farms are sites that churn out large numbers of pages, mostly duplicate or low quality content, although that isn’t entirely clear to me. Content farms? Enable scrolling in Windows Start Menu

Many people have a very large office space and frequently sit far away from their computer monitor.  If that is the case with you, you probably have a fairly large screen resolution so you can clearly see your monitor from far away.

Because of the settings on some computers as well as the huge amount of programs installed, you will find that after just a few new program installations the icons on the All programs menu will cascade right off the screen.
