Doteasy hosting
Choosing a web host is not that easy, since basically we all want a decent web host that offers the best value for our money, while there’s so many to choose from these days. But what about free web hosts? Normally, I wouldn’t go for free web hosts, but there’s an instance when free could be considered – If you’re testing the waters and running on a shoestring budget. One such free web host is Doteasy.
Doteasy is a semi free web host that has been in business since 2000, and I think that’s because of their business model, of which domain name registration seems to be a main part. Register any com/org/net domain with them for $7.95 and you get a whole year’s worth of free web hosting on their servers. I’ve heard of Doteasy all this while, and it’s true they’ve been running as a free web host for a decade. Well, semi free that is.

While this means that the specifications won’t be that large for the free option; it still sounds ok, with 1 GB bandwidth and 100 MB storage space. You can have 10 email accounts and host 10 add-on domain names too. Here is the coupon code: 1003BPM.
Of course, there are also the paid plans.
The paid plans come in two types, the Ultra plan, and the Unlimited plan. Price-wise, there is so little difference between them that I figure most people would prefer the Unlimited plan at $9.95 a month. The paid plans all come with PHP and MySQL support, while you also get a unique IP of your own.
Here’s the caveat though, the free plans don’t support MYSQL and PHP, which means if you want to run WordPress hosting, you need the paid plans. However, both the free and paid web hosting plans come with standard free web tools which include online photo gallery, webform application, website creator, blog application, and forum application. Also, all the plans come with Cpanel powered backend administration.

I agree. I would normally never user a free web host, but when running tests etc, it could be fine. For a free web host, you can’t demand “normal” specifications, so I think that 1 GB bandwidth and 100 MB storage space is OK…
This looks like a good hosting site. will recommend others to take a look at this and if I need some more hosting, I may have to take advantage of that coupon code
would have to look at the paid version for wordpress…
For bloggers that are not doing it on a pro-am basis, I suggest blogspot. A fast site for no cost. If you are serious about blogging, you need to get a real host and pay up so that you can have a fast site that won’t crash with a digg blast. Do it right or don’t do it at all.
Well…I would suggest the bloggers to make use of free hosting things or to have own blog instead of wordpress or blogger..The way we can workout thing would be totally different when compared to Bloggers & WordPress..
If you have a blog just for fun, not with intention of making money out of it, you can use worpress, blogspot, blogger and any other free web hosting. But when you intend to make money out of blogging one should definitely have a payed web hosting.
Excellent information for web hosting site.Hope this will be useful will hosting in test basis.
hosting is one important decision to make with regards to your website.
as Jenny said if its just for fun, then use a free service like WordPress – but if you want to build a professional site or monetize your blog, then you need a good, but affordable host.
I agree with Michelle on this one. Semi-free web hosts are great once you’re into blogging. It’s also a good solution if you need your information updated regularly (and I believe everybody needs that). Doteasy looks trustable and it’s extremely user-friendly.

I wonder hot Doteasy gets to make there money back. Anyways that a nice concept.
It’s hard for any company to offer free hosting and expect to remain viable, unless its made so that many of them want to upgrade to paid.
Your blog ranks well for web hosting searches in Google. I am at the Data Centre Design Association. I added you to my RSS reader to monitor a response. I am in the process of setting up a blog on our own site using WordPress and a wiki using Wikimedia and a section using Drupal which are proving to be a challenge to get working so I was looking for web hosts that would be able to easily install the software and host them with the least difficulties any recommendations?.
Doteasy refuses to release & transfer my domain unless I pay their “domain release fee.” I initiated a transfer well in advance of expiration, but they locked the domain & didn’t respond to my request for it to be unlocked until after it expired. Tech support has been useless so far. This company should be avoided at all costs.
