Google’s 9th birthday and the number 9

By | September 27, 2007

Today is Google’s 9th birthday, and if you notice, Google has decorated its homepage with an understated G that looks like a 9. I didn’t know the significance of the birthdate earlier, but this particular year, I noticed something. Here’s an interesting spin to Google’s birthdate:

09-27-2007 is in effect, a 9-9-9 (If you add the double digits up) It’s a rare date in the calender as well….

Also, 9+9+9 = 18,

18 or 1+8 = 9,

We’re back at 9 again.

Hmm…what do you think?

Ok, something IS up with Google. Some current Google developments that have been making headlines.

  • Google’s stocks currently are the highest in its history so far, stunning many analysts so far. Google’s share price hit $560/share and now its stock value is about $175 billion, even surpassing established corporations like Hewlett Packard.
  • Google has been delaying it’s latest PageRank update for about two months, confounding many seasoned webmasters. It appears they have scrapped the update altogether. Will Google continue to maintain its PageRank system in the coming future, that’s the question. I’d say lot’s of people depend on PageRank for a living:D
  • Related to the above, Google is appearing to be on a big algorithm tweak, even hitting on many directories, and having weird front page results. Everyone’s praying it’ll settle down soon, so they can start deciphering what happened. 😀
  • Google founders, Larry Paige and Sergey Brin are in the top 30 billionaire list, concurrent with Google’s soaring share prices. They are in fact the youngest guys in the bunch, and with Google’s increasing share prices, are very likely to go much higher.

So just for fun, going back to the number 9, what does it denote? Doing some reading, and it seems, 9 is THE number of power and strength. So, it’s a coincidence of sorts, that on it’s 9th birthday on this particular 27 Sept, on this particular 9-ish day, Google is seemingly basking at the pinnacle of the Web, and hitting the right notes leading all the way up to today.

Happy 9th birthday, Google, enjoy your nines.
